I have a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) (Birth-12) from Macquarie University. I started working at SDN in January 2017 when I initially took on a parental leave cover as Centre Director at SDN Surry Hills. I loved it so much I wanted to stay, so I was very fortunate when a permanent position became available at SDN Redfern.
I love that SDN supports all families, particularly those experiencing challenges, and I like that SDN services are inclusive and are there to support all children.
I believe the first five years of life are vital to a child’s development, and that all children deserve to have the best start, which is why I feel so passionately about high quality early childhood education and care.
SDN Redfern is a big part of the local community, having been here for 80 years. The children regularly go on excursions to be part of the wider community, and we really encourage a sense of belonging both within the centre and in the Redfern community as a whole. The best thing about SDN Redfern is the relationships the children are able to build– with each other, with their educators, and with the community.
In my spare time I like to run and swim, and I love scuba diving and anything that involves spending time with animals.
